Los Angeles, CA- There are quite a few celebrities going through a divorce at this time, and some of them are speaking out this week about how they and their children are coping during this troubled time. The candidness of the Nick Cannon, Kris Jenner and Blake Shelton helps us understand that divorce is hard for everyone, regardless of their status and wealth.
All eyes have been on the split of Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon, which they announced in August, and many have been wondering how the couple’s two children are dealing with their parent’s split.
Speaking with MSN’s Wonderwall, Cannon said Monroe and Moroccan, the couple’s three year old twins, are too young to understand their parents are splitting. He said his priority right now is his children and the dating can wait, telling People magazine he’s had plenty of offers.
“I’m trying to slow it down and stay focused. Family is the first thing and my kids are most important…Obviously the dating thing will come down the line, but right now I’m just slowing down,” Cannon told People.
He discussed the traveling and the back-and –forth his children are experiencing saying it is just a part of their normal life, something they are used to being the children of two high-profile celebrities. In that respect, Cannon says, “There life hasn’t changed one bit!”
Although Cannon and Carey have been living apart for the past five months, the couple have yet to finalize their divorce. Between Carey’s $500 million fortune, their private jets, multiple homes and convoy of vehicles, which includes a Lamborghini, their divorce attorneys are going to have a field day with
This will be Cannon’s first, but this will be Carey’s second time at the divorce rodeo.
A second divorce is just as hard and gut-wrenching as a first divorce, but Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner said in a recent interview that her first has given her the strength to get through her most split from Bruce Jenner.
Kris, 59, filed for divorce from Bruce in September after a nearly year-long separation and months of rumors. She told ABC in an interview that her divorce from Robert Kardashian was “scary,” and there was a period where things got “ugly,” but she learned from it.
“It was a really good learning experience for me, because I learned how to deal with something, if it ever came up again and now we are going through it,” Jenner told ABC.
