Los Angeles, CA-  Melanie Lanskey, who currently stars in “Two and a Half Men,’ has filed for divorce from her husband of five years, TMZ reports.

According to TMZ, who obtained a copy of the court documents filed on Sept. 25th, Lanskey, 36, cited irreconcilable differences as her reason for seeking divorce from fellow actor Jimmi Simpson, 35, currently appearing in “Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia.”  They separated in April of this year.

In the documents, both Lanskey and Simpson waived their rights for spousal support. They don’t have any children so their divorce attorneys will be able to quickly dissolve their nuptials.

Lansky and Simpson met on the set of Stephen King’s “Rose Red” in 2001. They tied the knot in 2007 after four years of dating.

Their split seems amicable, which is rare in the world of high-powered celebrities. Often when entertainers split they are caught up in a divorce battle that has the potential to rage on for months and even years, because of their wealth, but they can chose to sign a pre-nuptial agreement to make their divorce less painful and easy to resolve.

Celebrities frequently chose to sign pre-nuptial agreements which will dictate what assets along with the type and amount of support each spouse will get in the event of a divorce. These agreements can also cover child custody arrangements, which can become a very contentious issue when a marriage fails.
