New York, NY- Ah, divorce. Nothing brings out the worst in people than divorce. And for some people that battle with their ex ends up being very costly. Don’t believe us, well just ask renowned neurosurgeon, Dr. Eric Braverman.
Braverman, who has helped many a noteworthy client including railed on New York’s divorce court this week after a judge ordered him to turn over all his “personal property to a receiver,” the New York Post reported.
Braverman was told by his attorneys that the order meant everything, even his underwear, though we suspect that might be a bit of hyperbole. He has yet to comply with the order yet as he is appealing.
The neurosurgeon and his wife have been locked into nasty battle over marital assets and child custody since 2011. In that time they have been to court repeatedly, seen psychologist
Braverman is not too happy with the divorce court either, telling the the New York Post that “60 Centre St. is a corrupt hellhole.”
We can only hope that New York Knicks coach Derek Fisher has a better experience with the courts than Braverman not that he and his wife of ten years have filed for divorce.
Fisher, who is in his first season with the Knicks, and his wife Candace announced they will be splitting up this week.
The couple married in 2005 and have two children together. They both have children from their previous marriages.
In a statement reported by the New York Post, the Fisher said, “his is a difficult time for me personally. For the sake of our children, I ask that everyone respects our privacy during this process.”
Whether or not Fisher and his now-estranged wife can avoid an ugly fight remains to be seen.
