293.ad.Braxton.Lewis.111009 After 12 years of marriage, Toni Braxton is officially single. She finalized her divorce from her husband, Keri Lewis.

“The couple has had an amicable split and will still both be actively involved in raising their two sons, 11-year-old Denim and 10-year-old Diezel,” the rep says in a statement.

Braxton, 45, met Lewis back in 1994 when his Minneapolis-based band, Mint condition, accompanied her on tour. Four years later, they were married in a private outdoor ceremony on a 60-acre estate near Atlanta.

The two had split up in 2009 around the same time Braxton was having financial problems. She said in her VH1 Behind the Music special last October that the split with Lewis in 2009 really had taken a toll on her.

Some have speculated the breakup had toni-braxton-and-trey-songz-kisssomething to do with Braxton’s full-on lip-lock with singer Trey Songz during the taping of the 2009 Soul Train Awards.

The deep-voiced, “UnBreak My Heart” singer has won six Grammy Awards and is also a songwriter, record producer, actress and philanthropist. She stars in the WEtv reality series “Braxton Family Values” with her four sisters, Trina, Traci, Tamar and Towanda.

“I had to figure out a plan for my life that had nothing to do with him,” she said. “I was angry with everybody. I couldn’t believe this was happening to me. I felt that I was a person dealing with a lot of struggles and here comes another one.”

Braxton has also filed twice for bankruptcy and, in 2010, said that she had been diagnosed with the autoimmune disease lupus, according to People.

In February, while promoting her Lifetime movie “Twist of Faith,” she told the Associated Press she was working on a new album with her longtime collaborator Babyface called “Love, Marriage, Divorce.”

The album will be released via Motown Records this fall, but the title and release date are not confirmed yet. The eight-time Grammy winner is set to kick off North American tour in Las Vegas in early August. The tour wraps up in Atlanta on August 31.
