Liam Gallagher has hired the top lawyer behind Sir Paul McCartney’s divorce from Heather Mills in the wake of his lovechild scandal, reported the Daily Star.

The former Oasis frontman hit headlines last month when Rock-and-roll journalist, Liza Ghorbani, told The New York Times and Rolling Stone that the British musician is the father of her young daughter. Ghorbani filed the papers in Manhattan Family Court suing for $3 million.

This was not the first time that the notorious singer had seen his name in the headlines for allegedly having a love child. In 1998, while he was still married to Holby and Emmerdale star Patsy Kensit, it was reported that Lisa Moorish gave birth to Gallagher’s first daughter.

Neither Gallagher nor his wife, former All Saints singer Nicole Appleton, have commented on the scandal. However, the marriage seems to be coming to an end after Gallagher hired Fiona Shackleton, the lawyer behind a string of celebrity divorces.

Shackleton, nicknamed the Steel Magnolia, is the most famous divorce lawyer in the country after representing a succession of huge stars.

She helped McCartney keep most of his estimated $800 million fortune intact when his second wife Mills was only awarded $36.4 million in 2008. The lawyer also represented Madonna during her split from Guy Ritchie and has recently overseen the quick divorce of her cousin Nigella Lawson and advertising mogul Charles Saatchi.

Favored by the Royal Family, Shackleton was also a major player in the settlements between Prince Charles and Princess Diana, and the Duke and Duchess of York.

Gallagher and Appleton did not take out a prenuptial agreement when they got married so in theory Nicole could be due half his fortune.

Gallagher is also refusing to move from the family home in Hampstead, London, after the breakdown of the five-year marriage. The couple was together for nearly eight years before they tied the knot at a London register office in 2008. They have a son together named Gene.
