You might remember the article posted earlier this month about the bizarre divorce settlement where a husband had to pay an allowance for his ex-wife’s ice cream habit? Well another odd settlement has emerged this month between Dan Auerbach and his now ex-wife Stephanie Gonis.

The Black Keys’ frontman finalized his bitter divorce from Stephanie Gonis in Tennessee last week. As part of the divorce settlement terms, he agreed to turn over a lock of Bob M_BobDylanandHair630_082912Dylan’s hair, according to TMZ. Auerbach also agreed to give his ex-wife $5 million, one of the couple’s homes, and a 2012 Toyota Highlander.

How they obtained the hair, how much of the hair the couple owned and what they were planning on doing with the hair is not currently unknown to the public.

Bob Dylan, who has been an influential figure in popular music and culture for more than five decades, has not yet weighed in on the proceedings. Dylan is not the first artist to have locks of his hair end up in the hands of fans. A lock of hair believed to have been from Elvis Presley’s army-issued buzz-cut sold at auction for $15,000. Mick Jagger’s hair was sold at auction to an unnamed buyer for roughly $6,100 last year. Justin Bieber’s locks sold for $40,668, the proceeds of which went to charity. Even Beethoven was not immune to the strange follicular fandom — in 1994, two fans of the great composer paid $7,300 for hair from the great composer’s head.

Auerbach, 33, and Gonis were married for over four years and have one child together, 4-year-old daughter Sadie. The Grammy-winning guitarist/singer/producer announced his divorce in February but things got a bit messy as Gonis began making allegations of accused of abuse in the divorce filings.

Auerbach fired back with his own allegations claiming his wife twice attempted to commit suicide—once supposedly in front of their daughter, of whom Auerbach has primary custody, and later by starting a fire that could have potentially destroyed their house.
