Los Angeles, CA- Arnold Schwarzenegger, pushing his new novel “Total Recall: My Unbelievable True Life Story,” went on “60 Minutes” Sunday to discuss his divorce from Maria Shriver and his affair with a housekeeper.

In May of last year, news broke that Schwarzenegger, former Governor of California, had an illegitimate child with the family housekeeper, Mildred Baena, after an affair they had over a decade ago. This revelation came just after he stepped down from political office and prompted Shriver to hire a Los Angeles divorce attorney and officially end their marriage.

He told Stahl that he and Baena never discussed the child, but when the boy was about 8 he noticed the resemblance and began paying her extra money.

It was during a family therapy session that Schwarzenegger finally came clean about the child and the affair.Earlier this year, he tried to reconcile to no avail.

On “60 Minutes,” the action film star told Lesley Stahl that his children reacted differently to the revelation of his infidelity, “the girls started crying and the boys were disappointed.” He managed to keep his affair secret for many years because he feared the story would get out.

He also revealed that he had had an affair with one of his co-stars, Brigitte Nielsen, 25 years ago while he was dating Shriver. He said that the affair made him realize that he wanted to marry Shriver.

During his first campaign for Governor, he was accused of sexual misconduct by three women who allege he grabbed their breasts and put his hands up their skirts.

Schwarzenegger’s novel hits shelves today and repeatedly praises Shriver for being a wonderful woman and laments his numerous affairs which destroyed his marriage.
